FLO KRAUSE:
I have represented prisoners at all levels since 1993.
I have appeared before panels of the Parole Board regularly since then (on average three times a week, my appearances running into thousands) and I travel all over the country to do so.
I have appeared in the Administrative Court in judicial review proceedings regularly since 1998, taking well over a thousand cases through.
I have appeared in all the courts in this country and in Europe. I have brought two challenges in Strasbourg and won both (the right to vote and the artificial insemination case).
I have acted for/represented prisoners in some high profile cases:
Dennis Nilsen's battle to have his own manuscript in possession, John Hirst to be able to vote as a prisoner (domestic courts, Strasbourg Court and Grand Chamber), Ronnie Biggs to obtain compassionate relief, Mr and Mrs Mellor and Mr and Mrs Dickson to have the right to conceive a child by artificial insemination and Mr Watkins in his misfeasance claim against the Home Office.
I have also challenged the way in which the prison system works, especially for life sentence prisoners. I continue to do so to this day.
I have represented families at Inquests.
I have also undertaken other work and will always consider other areas when approached, such as other public law matters or even private law matters.
I occasionally undertake criminal appeals but generally against sentence when the matter raises a point of law.
I was interviewed for Law In Action on radio 4 for the Parole Board programmes.
